Yellow Bell Sound wants to help musicians like you turn your musical vision into a professional recording that you love.

How to get started with production, mixing and mastering:

1. Let’s chat. Before we get started, let’s make sure we’re a fit. Schedule a free 30min virtual call with Bethany to talk through your ideas for your music, and our ability to make them happen.

2. Getting the sound. Our goal is to make sure the final recording aligns with the music you hear in your head. Whether you know exactly how you want it to sound, or you can only imagine a single melody, we’ll talk it through and get it figured out. Before we dive into production, we’ll identify reference tracks, talk favorite artists, instruments, and genres so we can bring it to life!

3. Creating tracks. You can record with us in our NE Portland studio, or in some cases, send us tracks you recorded on your own. The raw tracks are the base from which we build out your music, so they need to be strong.

4. Iteration. Finding the right sound is about more than good recordings. Even with the best recordings, we’ll still tweak EQ, add compression, throw on some reverb, and more. We’ll listen back and ask, “What’s missing?” and “What don’t we need?” and make fixes.

5. Mixing. In a good mix, every element of a song sits right. We’ll adjust volume and EQ levels to be sure no single element is competing with another. Each unique component of your song will fit exactly where you it want it live within the song.

6. Mastering. With the mastering step, we work together put the right gloss and polish on your song.
